What is the DVSA?

The DVSA is Great Britain's Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency, responsible for carrying out driving tests, roadside checks on cars and lorries, and approving people to become MOT testers or driving instructors. The DVSA also carries out post-crash investigations and looks after annual safety tests for lorries and buses. If you're a fact fan, it's worth knowing that the DVSA is a relatively new government agency, having been formed in April 2014 by merging the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA) and the Driving Standards Agency (DSA).
