We are proud of the steps we have taken to combat slavery and human trafficking and are committed to continuing to develop our practices.

Organisation's structure

We operate as a motor vehicle retailer based in the UK. Motorpoint Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of Motorpoint Group PLC (the “Company” or “Group”). 

We currently have circa 750 employees and we operate in the UK.

Our business

We are the UK’s leading independent omnichannel used vehicle retailer.

The business operates from 20 locations across the UK.

The Head Office function is based in Derby. All vehicle sourcing decisions are made by the Buying and Stock team which is based at Head Office.

Our supply chains

Our supply chains include:

  • Sourcing vehicles from UK based auction houses.
  • Sourcing vehicles from UK based lease companies.
  • Occasionally sourcing vehicles directly from vehicle manufacturers (which will be subject themselves to strict Modern Slavery Act 2015 obligations).
  • Purchasing vehicles directly from customers as part of a part exchange offering.
  • Purchasing vehicle parts from UK based suppliers.
  • Obtaining vehicle industry related goods and services from UK based companies.
  • Purchasing vehicles direct from consumers.

Our policies on anti-slavery and human trafficking

We are committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains or in any part of our business. Our Anti-slavery and Human Trafficking policy (the “Policy”) reflects our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to ensuring anti-slavery and human trafficking is not taking place anywhere in our supply chains.

Chris Morgan, the Group’s CFO and Compliance Officer is responsible for monitoring the relevant policies and the board of directors of the Company has overall responsibility for ensuring the Policy and its implementation complies with its legal and ethical obligations.

Due diligence processes for slavery and human trafficking

As part of our initiative to identify and mitigate risk we communicate directly with our supply chain partners by:

  • Mapping our supply chains and identifying potential risk areas.
  • Regularly monitoring potential risk areas in our supply chains.
  • Protecting whistleblowers (through our Whistleblowing policy).

Supplier adherence to our values

We have zero tolerance to slavery and human trafficking and expect all our business partners to share this approach. A copy of this statement is available on the Company website for our business partners to inspect. As part of our initiative to identify and mitigate risk exposure, we carry out due diligence on all new suppliers, agents, consultants, and contractors throughout our supply chain. This is to ensure the potential for modern slavery and human trafficking is significantly reduced within our business. Our due diligence process requires multi-level credential checks for all new suppliers in our supply chain.  We conduct reviews of all our standard risk suppliers every two years. We also have a process in place to review suppliers on an ad hoc basis based on the needs of the business.

Our compliance team consists of involvement from the following departments:

  • Buying.
  • Company Secretary.
  • Finance.
  • Human Resources.
  • Operations.

To ensure a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains and our business, we provide training to our staff as necessary as part of the onboarding process.

This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes our Group's Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement for the financial year ending 31 March 2024.
