2025 Citroen C4 facelift: price, specs & release date

Vehicle-to-Load technology comes to the electric e-C4 version for the first time. So you can make a French onion soup whenever the mood takes you.

Besides the baguette-toasting ability of the new Citroen e-C4, which can power small electricals from its onboard battery via an optional adapter, the 2025 C4 facelift gains a bold new look.

The facelift is largely concentrated around the light clusters, both of which get an eye-catching new stack design. The new look brings the C4 range in line with the freshly launched C3 and C3 Aircross models, although the C4 manages to keep its own identity. There’s the new Citroen badge up front, and a new set of 18-inch alloy wheels below.

2025 Citroen C4 release date and prices

Orders open for the refreshed C4 and C4 X, plus the e-C4 variants, later this week. If you’re a keen bean and want one of the first UK deliveries, you’ll get your car in early 2025.

Prices start from £22,295 – which is very reasonable for a family hatchback with a hybrid engine. That buys the You! trim (exclamation mark optional) and its long list of standard equipment, including dual-zone climate control, a 10-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, LED lights and rear parking sensors.

Choosing the e-C4 costs around £4,000 more – but even so, the e-C4 is now around £5,000 cheaper to buy than it previously was.

Mid-range Plus trim adds a reversing camera, folding mirrors and built-in sat nav, and costs about £1,000 for the upgrade – or just a few pounds per month on a PCP finance deal. Top-spec Max gets privacy glass, heated front seats, adaptive cruise control and light grey leather-effect upholstery, with prices starting from £25,275.

The C4 X saloon is the same price as the hatchback, although it’s only available with hybrid or electric power and not in the entry-level trim.

The engine range is a bit confusing too. There’s a 1.2-litre hybrid petrol engine, with 100hp on the base model or 136hp further up the range, while the non-hybrid 130hp petrol engine is more expensive and not available on You trim. It’s probably more expensive because it now only comes with an automatic gearbox – there’s no manual option available any more.

Furthermore, You and Plus versions of the e-C4 get a 50kWh battery and a 136hp motor, but Max versions get a newer powertrain with more range and 20hp more power. The smaller battery offers 219 miles to a full charge, compared to 257 miles for the bigger 54kWh battery.
