Motorpoint, the UK’s largest independent retailer of nearly new cars and vans, opened its 19th store in Coventry on 21 October 2022, creating 25 new jobs and delivering unbeatable value for money to car buyers in the city.
Located next to the Gallagher Retail Park off the A444 Jimmy Hill Way, the multi-million-pound outlet will be the 18th in Motorpoint’s growing network and will further strengthen its position in the Midlands where it also has stores in Birmingham, Oldbury and Derby.
The opening is part of a nationwide expansion for Motorpoint as its mission to keep used car prices unbeatable continues to resonate with motorists feeling the pinch of the cost-of-living crisis.
But despite the brand’s focus on exceptional value, it will still give nearly new car customers the same standards of care and attention as new car buyers. The new site’s state-of-the-art showroom (formerly Brandish Vauxhall) is ideally suited to the delivery of Motorpoint’s award-winning customer experience.
Meanwhile, the huge three-acre site has space for 200 vehicles, giving customers a wide choice of nearly new cars and vans to choose from in one convenient store location with 1000’s more available via Motorpoint’s online shop.
Work on the site is underway now and the new store is expected to open for business in mid-October. Recruitment is also in progress with senior and trainee roles in sales and service, administration and vehicle preparation all available at the Coventry store.

Lord and Lady Mayoress of Coventry officially open city’s Motorpoint Store
Our 19th store was declared open by Cllr Kevin Maton, Lord Mayor of Coventry at the special store celebration event on Friday 4th November 2022
Motorpoint CEO Mark Carpenter and Chris Goodison, Retail Regional Director for Motorpoint Coventry, presented a £1,000 donation to the store’s chosen charity Myton Hospice. Moving forward, all events held at Motorpoint Coventry will raise funds for the hospice, a charity that does incredible work across the Coventry and Warwickshire community to support people and their families who are living with the impact of a terminal illness.
Declaring Motorpoint Coventry open, Cllr Kevin Maton, the Rt Worshipful Lord Mayor of Coventry, said: “It is always a real pleasure to see businesses investing in the city, especially as we continue our recovery from the problems of the pandemic, and Motorpoint has shown faith in Coventry. The new store is a great addition to our city, and I am sure will be popular for drivers across Coventry.

On a personal note, I am so pleased that the new Motorpoint store is here in Meto Lakha Close. The road is named after a late friend and colleague and our city’s first female Asian city councillor and former Lady Mayoress.”
