What is range anxiety?

Range anxiety is a feeling of fear or anxiousness that you don't have enough fuel or electricity left in your car to get to your destination. It's mainly talked about in relation to electric cars as, when electric cars were in their infancy, there weren't many that offered a similar amount of range (miles left until empty) to a petrol or diesel car. Thankfully, not only are electric cars rapidly offering more and more miles to a charge, but the charging infrastructure has improved dramatically, too. There's now a rapidly increasing number of chargers, as well as increasingly powerful ones that charge your car faster. You might also experience range anxiety in a fuel-powered car when the 'low fuel' warning light comes on.
