What is RxEV?

RxEV refers to range-extender electric vehicles. These can be thought of as battery electric vehicles with an on-board fuel-powered generator to recharge the batteries. Unlike PHEVs, the fuel-driven generator is usually not strong enough to power the car on its own so cannot be directly connected to the wheels. Modern black cabs built by LEVC are probably the most common vehicle to use an RxEV setup.
