What is carbon dioxide (CO2)?

Carbon dioxide (CO2) is a gas given off by cars when their engines burn fuel to make the car move. Because CO2 is a greenhouse gas, it contributes to climate change. All cars are taxed by the amount of CO2 they produce, measured in grams per kilometre (g/km). The lower the g/km, the less CO2 is put out by that car's engine.
