What is forward collision warning?
Forward collision warning is a safety system that helps reduce the risk of front-end crashes. Cars with this feature use radar or video sensors to watch out for slow or stopped vehicles that you might collide with. If you get too close to an obstacle and the on-board computer decides there's a crash risk, forward collision warning will activate with a loud noise and flashing lights in the driver's dials to alert you to the danger. Lots of cars that include forward collision warning also have automatic emergency braking, which means the car brake by itself to avoid a crash. We wouldn't advise turning forward collision off as it's a useful safety feature, but it can be deactivated using dashboard buttons or your infotainment system.
