What is Isofix?
Isofix is the name of an internationally recognised system for fixing child seats safely to cars. Nearly all modern cars have Isofix anchor points on their outermost rear seats – they consist of solid metal bars, two built into each seat. You push the Isofix arms of a child seat onto these bars to lock a child seat firmly to the chassis of a car. You'll usually find Isofix anchor points hidden behind plastic flaps or behind a zip in the seat fabric and, on older cars, you may just have to fish around between the seat back and seat base for the metal bars.
