What is Apple CarPlay?

Apple CarPlay is a feature included in most cars' infotainment systems. It lets you use apps on your iPhone directly through your car's infotainment screen, without needing to tap anything on your phone. Plug your Apple device into one of the car's USB sockets to start the system or, on recent cars with wireless CarPlay, simply pair your phone over Bluetooth.

Possibly the best feature is that CarPlay lets you use your favourite sat nav apps – complete with all your personalised settings – through your car's screen, even if it didn't include sat nav from the factory. You can also listen to all your personalised playlists through Spotify or Apple Music, or enjoy your collection of audiobooks and podcasts.
