Mercedes CLA Coupe FAQs

Like every other car Mercedes builds, the CLA Coupe's interior is really impressive. The twin-screen infotainment setup on top of the dashboard looks high-tech and almost all the points you touch frequently are trimmed in leather, metal or gloss black.

There's lots of space up front and the back seats are large enough for adults to get reasonably comfortable. The sloping roof does limit rear headroom, however, and the narrow side windows can make it feel a bit gloomy back there. For most buyers, however, the CLA's slick style and posh cabin will more than make up for these shortcomings.

The CLA Coupe is a little less than 4.7 metres long. That gives it more-or-less the same footprint as the Mercedes C-Class saloon. As a result, the CLA is towards the larger end of the spectrum so won't be the easiest car to thread through tight city streets. On the plus side, all models come with all-round parking sensors as standard, so you should be able to avoid bashing the bodywork.

The Mercedes CLA Coupe is a very good car, although it does have some downsides. Chiefly that passenger space is compromised slightly by the dramatic styling and, as a Mercedes, you'll be looking at a higher purchase price than some similarly talented rivals.

You'll probably be able to forgive the CLA Coupe these shortcomings, however, because it looks so good. And, once you sit inside, you find that its qualities are more than skin deep, with lots of posh materials, an elegant design and a slick infotainment system.
